On February 3, 2016 Women Give Back held a fundraiser for the benefit of ChildSafe, a local nonprofit that helps protect, treat, and care for abused children in the San Antonio area. The fundraiser, which was generously hosted by Julian Gold, took the form of a fashion show featuring some of San Antonio’s most stylish ladies. Julian Gold donated 10% percent of the proceeds from every purchase to ChildSafe. Julian Gold has been a great supporter of WGB and continues to be involved in giving back to the community. In total, WGB and the community raised over $15,000 for children in need.
ChildSafe is a children’s advocacy center devoted to providing specialized services to children and teenagers who are victims of violence, neglect, or sexual abuse. The work they do is underscored by the vital importance of it: every day, there are 185 confirmed cases of child abuse in Texas. ChildSafe served a total of 4,359 children last year, an increase of 16% from previous years.
Women Give Back is proud to support such a fine organization — an organization that is always striving to better serve the community. We sincerely wish the best of luck to ChildSafe and hope that the toiletries, clothing, and other donated items go a long way in preventing or caring for even just one case of child abuse in San Antonio.
